Laura Cannon, CPA
A Certified Public Accountant since 1991, Laura Cannon focuses on tax planning strategies for closely held entities and their owners. She received a Masters degree in Professional Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin. Laura started out her career in public accounting at KPMG Peat Marwick in Dallas. She returned to Austin and spent several years at local CPA firms before founding her own firm in 1997. After leaving the office, she often heads immediately to the tennis courts.
Laura Justice, CPA
Laura Justice is a graduate of Texas A&M University and a Certified Public Accountant since 1995. She spent several years as a Controller in Houston and Austin before stepping into public practice in 2006. Laura has been part of our team since 2012. She often fills the hours outside of the office on the sidelines at soccer games.
Lynn Nuut, CPA
A graduate of St. Edward’s University, Lynn Nuut began working in public accounting in 1989 and became a Certified Public Accountant in 1993. She worked for two other small CPA firms before joining Laura Cannon’s firm in 2001. Lynn enjoys the opportunity to be uniquely familiar with her clients’ business and individual accounting needs. In her free time, Lynn crochets blankets and hats for a neonatal intensive care unit.
Karen Bradford is a graduate of Old Dominion University and has been preparing tax returns since 1997. She is a Comptroller at a local civil engineering firm. Karen joined Laura's firm in 2011 as a seasonal tax preparer. An avid sports fan, she loves to attend as many events as possible.
A 2000 graduate of the University of Texas, Hallie Huttash Valentine began her accounting career in 1996. While obtaining her degree, she prepared tax returns and did bookkeeping at several local CPA firms. Hallie began working at Laura Cannon’s CPA firm in 2009. She also provides QuickBooks setup and troubleshooting through her own bookkeeping service. Hallie is a native Austinite and has a young daughter who keeps her on the run.
An Iowa native, Marlene Royer spent 20 years as a legal assistant specializing in probate, trusts, and tax compliance. She moved to Austin in 1992 and began working in public accounting. Marlene joined Laura Cannon’s firm in 2001. Now semi-retired, Marlene prepares tax returns on a seasonal basis. During the summer months, she and her husband spend time running Lady of the Lake, a sternwheeler excursion boat in Clear Lake, Iowa.
